Well, each time of the year we celebrate holiday, in different places at different day and different festive names. The Bahamas known for its culture got this lot of festive holidays. One of its joyous holiday season was junkanoo summer festival located at Nassau, the capital city of Bahamas. On early days, they celebrate this holiday during christmas and new year season but later on it has been introduced throughout the month of July. The said festival showcases different culture and heritage of its place. From the joyous beat and sound of the drums down to those incredibly colourful costumes during Junkanoo Rush-Out. Their music are primitive but infectious, with the beat of its locally made instruments such as drums, cowbells, horns, whistles and brass which was only been introduced during 1976 and became part of a nowaday Jukanoo festival. Jukanoo's early dance was called “shuffle and its today's modern dance was called “vola shuffle which is a free espirited freestyle dance . The costumes On early years the costume that was used by the performer were only made of leaves, shrubs, bottles, and paper which was portrayed by Neptune and Amphitrite which were a symbol for John Canoe. But in 1930 they introduced the spongecostume and after 20 years cloth fridge and tissue paper was used and on 1960 and today's costumes was made out of a cardboard, fridged crepe paper, aluminum rods, tie wires, contact cement and lots of glue. In history, Junkanoo is believed to be the strongest remaining African tradition in the Bahamas. As in history, it was named after John Canoe, an african prince and slave trader at the Gold Coast of Africa in the 17th century.

There are also some caribbean wedding traditions that was still practiced nowadays. This includes a not so typical wedding entourage which both bride and groom walk hand in hand though the streets of their village up to their wedding site and all the watchers gives comments for the couples appearance, wishes them well and giving them gifts. But unlike other wedding traditions, There is no Best man. The reception is basically lively which is filled with loud music and festive that tends to go all night. They usually served fresh fish and good, fruit drinks as for beverages and a black cake which is a spiced fruit cake soaked in rum. But weither it is a Caribbean or not, a wedding will always be treasured.
